PATHWAYS OF WOLFEBORO UPDATE

Thanks to the generous support of many, Pathways of Wolfeboro is well on the way toward achieving its goal of providing enhanced trails in Sewall Woods and Abenaki (see attached map).  This would make Wolfeboro a premier center for walking, jogging and non-motorized biking for all ages.  This project will improve the recreational options of our town and will help make Wolfeboro a better place to live and visit.  Sewall Woods and Abenaki can then be enjoyed on a year-round basis.

The annual Bike/Walk to work/school day was another great success as Parks and Rec teamed with Pathways and local merchants to encourage pedal and foot power to commute to work/school on May 13th! A beautiful day made the entire experience that much better, especially for school children heading to class. There were 2 refreshment stations, one at Cate Park and another at the Huggins Hospital entrance to fuel up the many cyclists and walkers. State bicycle maps, info and give-aways were also available.

The crew from Timber and Stone began the trail work in Abenaki this month! View some of the construction equipment used and their progress.

After they finish the trail work at Abenaki, it's on to Sewall Woods. With any luck the enhanced bike trail will be ready for use by Memorial Day, if not before!
